Follow directions for Pittenweem harbour, but drive on past the harbour 100 yards and
you will see car parking to your left. This is the esplanade. At the very end of this car parking is a turning point for cars, and
directly out from that is the old West harbour.
View From The Turning Point
This area is known as the "White Rock",and the green rocks in the picture will turn
white as the summer comes in.The area to fish is simply as far down this skelly as you can go.Beware though that is is pretty
slippery underfoot at the end,but is nice and flat.In summer this is a very good mark for red cod in amongst the kelp, and
used to aslo be good for small conger, although this may have been as much due to the old town sewage outfall as anything else.
When the sea is rough from the south east,it can also be worthwhile fishing into the
gap between the White Rock and the skelly to your right. You can then follow back the rock as the tide comes in and night fishing
would be quite successful here, especially from half tide to full,as the footing is good and the exit easy.
