This rest is for those occassions when you fish a pier with a high wall in front of you.The usual options are to either take your tripod, just lean your rod on the wall,(which scratches the underside),or lay your hand cloth on the wall first which usually means it blows away at some point when you lift your rod up.
For this you'll need one of our finger protectors,a small piece of wood,a couple of short screws, and one long screw of about 3 or 4 inches.

First thing to do is to drill a hole in the centre of the wood and screw your long screw home. Then fix the protector to the wood with the two short screws.

Next you have to pack a codless hammer drill and when you go to your usual spot, drill a hole at about 45 degrees in the appropriate place in the harbour wall.Either get permission to do this,or at least wait till no-one's looking.

No need for a rawl plug as the rest will quite happily slip into the hole and stay put,and of course the hole will be there for the next time so you don't need to always carry the drill.
