Although silicone tubing for rig building is quite cheap,this little idea is a way of either getting some for free,or for getting some in a hurry when you've run out at home.

All you have to do is to get hold of some scrap cable of the type used for two way switches,cut it into foot or so lengths,and pull the copper wire out from inside the sleeving.

 
 
 
 
 
 
This tubing can be employed for any of the purposes that silicone tubing can.It is especially good for making wishbone rigs like this one as it's extra firmness holds the two baits apart nicely.This is a great way of presenting two different baits when you are float fishing for example.
 
 
 
It can also be used for holding the second hook when using pennel rigs.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
And for holding your bait clips when distance casting.
