This variation 3 on how to make your large floats. This one uses screw top bottles and you use the same method as in the fruit shoot type bottles. That is to use a small bracket which you fix through the lid of the bottle.

In this case i've bent the bracket over slightly to have the centre of gravity of the float more vertical, and then fitted my 10mm and 5mm split ring as before.

Where you can now make a useful alteration is to use a coloured clear bottle, such as a tizer bottle like this one,and then find a splint of wood,or a piece of plastic ,and cut it two an inch or so less than the length of the bottle.Tape a chemical light,or if you're feeling ambitious a rod tip light to it.

Snap the light or switch it on,depending on which type of light you're using, and tape it to your stick with clear tape.Drop it light first into your float and screw down the lid.You now have a seriously shining float for using either at night or in dark conditions. It's really exciting seeing this one go under with a fish in the dark.
