I made my first drop net after losing a double figure cod trying to haul it up a high pier.

To make this you'll need a kids bike wheel,(size depending on what size of fish you're likely to get),a piece of netting, some decent waterproof string or corelene, and a length of rope.

Firstly take out the spokes from the wheel.

Measure around the wheel rim and cut a piece of netting to this size by around 18" or 2 feet.

Take your corelene and "sew" around the spoke holes through your netting. When you get back to where you started, sew down the ends of the netting to join it together.

Whip the bottom end of your net up to form your net bag.

Add a weight to the bottom to help your net sit better in the water.
